Hyderabad: Around five acres of prime land worth 100 crore in a 45-acre layout of Hyderabad Industries Ltd employees’ society, which was earmarked for parks, schools and other community purposes, was sold in the form of plots by the society in connivance with officials. This was revealed to Forum for Good Governance (FGG) in a Right to Information Act reply by the Kukatpally GHMC town planning wing.
In the RTI reply, the town planning wing also revealed how open spaces are converted into plots and sold out.
FGG secretary M Padmanabha Reddy said Hyderabad Industries employees mutually aided co-operative society had taken control of 45 acres of land, including 12 open spaces spread over five acres, meant for community purposes.
Local politicians, office-bearers of the society, employees of HMDA, registration department and Kukatpally municipality conspired and converted the 12 vacant spaces into 100 plots and sold them.
Following involvement of officials of various departments, the FGG has urged CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to order an inquiry by vigilance and enforcement or any other appropriate agency and punish the guilty.
“Close to 100 plots were laid in 12 vacant places and sold. These illegal plots were registered and constructions of dwelling houses and commercial complexes are coming up with the active cooperation of Kukatpally municipal staff,” Reddy alleged.
Reddy further said: “To complete the formality in some cases, they even issued notices but did not stop…
