Carol Vorderman hit by Instagram scammers

Share

TV and radio host and former Countdown maths genius Carol Vorderman has issued a warning to her followers on Instagram after being targeted by scammers.

The 61-year-old personality, who has more than 200,000 followers on her two Instagram accounts, has discovered a fake account – pretending to seek information about imposters.

This is not the first time Vorderman has been targeted by scammers and has warned others about fake accounts. She issued a warning in January over another scam. She’s told the fakers to ‘get a life and stop with this obsession. It’s pathetic.’

“I’ve just been sent this from someone alerting me to the fact that this fake account is trying to get information from them,” wrote Vorderman on her Instagram page.

“Crazily this imposter is pretending to want information about imposters. Jeez. Here’s the thing. This account @carolvorders and my van account @vordervan are the ONLY ACCOUNTS I HAVE.

“If you get any message from any other account pretending to be me. It isn’t me. I am only on here and @vordervan. And a message to ALL the fake account pretenders…..get a life and stop with this obsession. It’s pathetic.

“Anyway to the rest of us….have a great day.”

The TV presenter was inundated with messages of support on her Instagram post.
